Cool, refreshing, and deeply tied to Nepali culture — this Dahi Chiura is the ultimate power-breakfast and festival classic. Made with crispy Agrim Chiura, creamy yogurt, and fresh bananas, it’s a quick, nourishing meal full of nostalgic comfort.

Ingredients

For the base:

  • 2 cups Agrim Chiura (Beaten Rice)

  • 1.5 cups fresh thick yogurt (Dahi)

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced or mashed

  • 2-3 tbsp sugar or honey (adjust to taste)

For the crunch (Optional):

  • 2 tbsp roasted almonds or cashews, chopped

  • 1 tbsp pomegranate seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prep the Chiura Place Agrim Chiura in a colander. Rinse quickly under cold running water to soften it slightly, then drain immediately so it retains a light, pleasant crunch.

  2. Layer and Mix In serving bowls, layer the washed Agrim Chiura at the bottom. Pour the thick yogurt generously over it, and sweeten with sugar or honey.

  3. Assemble and Serve Top with sliced bananas and gently fold everything together. Garnish with chopped roasted nuts and pomegranate seeds for extra texture.

Tips & Variations

  • For a festive Asadh 15 experience, serve alongside seasonal mangoes instead of bananas.

  • If you prefer a crispier texture, skip rinsing the Agrim Chiura and mix it dry directly into the yogurt right before eating.

  • Swap refined sugar for jaggery powder (Chaku) for a more authentic, earthy sweetness.
