Create the perfect crispy, chewy, and golden crust right in your own kitchen using premium Agrim Maida.

The Pizza Dough:

  • 3 cups Agrim Maida (All-Purpose Flour)
  • 1 cup warm water (lukewarm, not boiling)
  • 2 ¼ tsp (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar (to activate the yeast)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (or refined vegetable oil)
  • 1 tsp salt

The Base & Toppings (Customizable):

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade tomato sauce)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for brushing the crust)
  • Your favorite toppings: sliced bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, olives, or chicken salami

Instructions to Cook

  • Activate the Yeast:
  • In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast.
  • Stir gently and let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes until the top becomes frothy and bubbly.

Form the Dough:

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the Agrim Maida and salt.
  • Make a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture along with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Stir with a wooden spoon until a shaggy dough begins to form.

Knead the Crust:

  • Turn the dough out onto a clean, lightly floured surface.
  • Knead for 5 to 7 minutes until the dough becomes smooth, elastic, and springs back slightly when poked.

Let it Rise:

  • Lightly coat a large bowl with a few drops of oil.
  • Place the dough inside, turning once to oil the top.
  • Cover tightly with plastic wrap or a damp kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Prep and Shape:

  • Preheat your oven to its highest setting, ideally around 250°C (475°F).
  • Punch the risen dough down to deflate it and divide it into two equal halves.
  • On a floured surface, use your hands or a rolling pin to stretch and flatten one half into a 10-12 inch circle.
  • Transfer the shaped base to a lightly oiled baking tray or a pizza stone.

Top it Off:

  • Lightly brush the outer edges of the crust with a little olive oil for a golden finish.
  • Spread an even layer of pizza sauce over the base, leaving a small border for the crust.
  • Sprinkle generously with mozzarella cheese and add your chosen toppings.

Bake to Perfection:

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • Keep an eye on it—the pizza is done when the crust is a deep golden brown and the cheese is melted and slightly bubbling. Slice and serve hot!

Tips & Variations

  • The Secret to a Crispy Base: Make sure your oven is completely preheated to its maximum temperature before putting the pizza in. A blast of high heat is what gives Agrim Maida that authentic pizzeria-style crunch.
  • Don't Overload: It’s tempting to pile on the toppings, but too many wet vegetables or heavy meats can make the center of the pizza soggy. Keep it balanced!
  • Make Ahead: You can make the dough in advance. After kneading, place it in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Cold fermentation actually improves the flavor of the crust!
